“You yourself do not realise how well you play the violin; if only you would take pride in your playing and perform with poise, passion and wit, as if you were the finest violinist in Europe.” (Letter from Mozart’s father)
Her playing has a voice that speaks to all generations! At the age of 13, the Japanese violinist Himari (born 2011) made her debut with the Berlin Philharmonic and became the youngest artist to sign with DECCA Classics. Since then, she has delighted the classical music world with her musicality; she is hailed as a ‘once-in-a-generation’ talent. Together with the SKO, which has been spreading Viennese Classical music to every corner of the globe since its inception, Himari presents the Violin Concerto No. 1 by the 17-year-old Mozart. Although he actually saw himself as a pianist, he also shone on the violin, for example with this first instrumental concerto, composed in 1773 immediately after his final trip to Italy. Two years earlier, Joseph Haydn had written the chamber-music-style Symphony No. 43, tailor-made for the exquisite orchestra of Esterházy Palace. The Sturm und Drang Symphony No. 59 from 1768 seems as if it were made for a swashbuckling drama.
