The SKO plays whatever takes your fancy! … namely the ‘Greatest Hits’ – the SKO tracks with the most plays on Spotify: from evergreen Baroque classics streamed millions of times, such as Bach’s Air, Pachelbel’s Canon (no, it’s not the composer’s only work) or Vivaldi’s catchy tunes, through to the crown jewels of the Viennese Classical period, right up to the classics of the future – which, according to all forecasts, will include Valentin Silvestrov’s meditative works – not least thanks to benchmark recordings such as those provided by the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester. And the best part? The music this evening is performed live, in real time and in full colour by a top-class ensemble whose self-imposed goal – long before the digital age and one that will always remain – is to introduce the whole world to classical music and the classical repertoire. It is presented, with a blend of music and satire, by a man whose first steps, by his own account, led him straight to the piano. Today, he is not only an award-winning cabaret artist, entertainer and ‘pianoist’ with countless radio and television appearances, but he also has a vast repertoire of songs and lyrics, all written by himself: Lars Reichow. ‘You simply have to experience this man live!’ (Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung)
